57th Reunion 2010

Wow what a reunion! It was so delightful to reunite with so many wonderful people that we had not seen in too many years. People started arriving in Altus on Thursday evening and continued throughout the weekend. We started the reunion on Friday night by gathering at Luigi’s for dinner/mixer and it was an exciting evening plus the place was packed. Most of those in attendance had not seen each other in many years. People came from all over the US and some as far away as Seattle Washington.

Saturday night was an evening to be remembered. We had one hundred fourteen in attendance per the table count. A special thanks to Kevin McAuliffe for arranging to have LtCol Ede and his lovely wife Traecy as our special guest and speaker. Many photos were taken and do feel free to post your reunion photo’s on the 57th MAS/AS Alumni group page on FaceBook or another great place to place your photo’s is “Flickr” (http://www.flickr.com/). Flickr will host your photos free of charge. Don Jenkins, Jim Harris and I have posted some outstanding photos on Flickr and you can view them on the internet by going to: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50814509@N07/ , http://www.flickr.com/photos/50693109@N07/sets/72157624067297703/and http://www.flickr.com/photos/wmhallii/sets/72157624086303575/ By clicking at the top right hand side where it says “Slideshow” you can get the full page view of each photo or click on the projector screen icon under the the word "uploads". Thanks to Don and Jim for making these photos available to the 57th Alumni. Those of you at the reunion will know we had a member of “The Altus Aviator” news paper in house and they published a nice article about the reunion in this week’s edition so go here to view it: www.thealtusaviator.com, the article is on page 6.

I have been asked if we will have another reunion in the future and the answer is yes and the planning started Sunday afternoon after the cookout. Feel free to share your thoughts with the reunion team; Paul Zender, Ken Lyman, Gary Snyder, Kevin McAuliffe and myself.

Those of you at the reunion please share your thoughts on the FaceBook 57th Military Airlift Squadron (MAS)/Airlift Squadron (AS), Alumni page.
